Bonhams costume sale - 24th February 2010

Here is yet another auction containing items from the
Fourth Doctor era, this time the big one from February 2010.
In a few of weeks time there is another costume sale at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, this time selling off a vast number of items which have featured in the various exhibitions that have been held around the country.

Since I covered the previous auctions at Bonhams on the 16th June 2009 and 16th December 2009, I felt I should do the same for this, but because there are SO many items on offer, I have split them up by Doctor.





Here are just the lots relating to the Fourth Doctor era

Lot 142
Full Circle, October 1980
A Marshman costume, of moulded and painted rubber and foam latex, with separate headpiece, on mannequin, height 66 inches (168cm)

Footnote:
The Marshmen are one of the indigenous population of the planet Alzarius from whom Adric and his people, the inhabitants of the Starliner evolved.

A Foamasi costume, foam costume heavily covered with black net fabric, with leather effect mouth, with rubberised hands and applied eyes, with quill type attachment to end of tail, on mannequin, height 70 inches (178cm)

Footnote:
The Foamasi are reptilian aliens who are involved in a nuclear war with the inhabitants of Argolis.

A Nimon costume, head in foam and black fabric, body of padded fabric covered foam, decorated with triangular vinyl motif (horns missing), height 76 inches (193cm)

Footnote:
This creature features in the Story as a member of the parasitic alien race who ravage the Galaxy.

A Mandrell costume, with scale effect in rubberised canvas, body of faux fur and foam, on rectangular base, costume on frame housing mechanical movement and related wiring, height 76 inches (193cm)

The Mandrells are creatures from the swamps of Eden, source of the drug Vraxoin.

Footnote:
This piece features during the episode as the carnival mask worn by the Doctor during the Ball held to commemorate the accession of Prince Giuliano to the Duchy of San Martino.
