Original 4th Doctor items on eBay - December 2016

Spotted this on eBay this month.

Destiny of the Daleks - Tyssan jacket
DOCTOR WHO 1979 '' DESTINY OF THE DALEKS '' TYSSAN ( Tim Barlow ) distressed jacket and belt.

The Jacket originally had foam padding inside (quite a lot of costumes from around this time
were padded using the dreaded pink foam) .......... but this has turned to dust, on photographing the costume
the dust was still making its presence known, even though I had gentle shook it for a good few minutes.
(I have the same trouble with the Mandrel, every time you move it another pile of dust comes out)

ORIGINALLY sold by The Prop Gallery more info and pictures at:
The Prop Gallery | Tyssan (Tim Barlow) jacket - Destiny of the Daleks

Tyssan is one of the main characters in the story and is in some of the key moments in the story.

A RARE opportunity to own a screen matched key characters piece of wardrobe, from the Tom Baker era and ad to that from a Dalek story. ......... what more could you want?

Warriors Gate - Gundan costume
This is an original BBC costume from the classic, Tom Baker, Doctor who serial, "Warriors Gate", originally aired during the 18th season over three episodes from 3 January to 24 January 1981.

This is a full Gundan jumpsuit, which sat underneath the armour on each Gundan robot.

It is in excellent condition with a foam corrugated type material top and silky black arms and legs.

It also comes with a Gundan waist harness, that joins around the waist and through the legs (picture).

Written inside the jumpsuit is the name Tony Prior, who is credited as a Gundan robot in the serial.

The harness has J.Adams written on the inside.

Original 4th Doctor items on eBay -
May 2016

It’s been a bit quiet on eBay for original Fourth Doctor items, but I did come across this one screen-used costume, and a rather amazing opportunity to buy your very own Bessie!

Power of Kroll
refinery uniform
Jacket, trousers and belt worn by the actor Graham Mallard portraying the character Harg in The Power of Kroll (1978/9), the fifth story in the Key to Time season. Harg is dragged to his death by Kroll through a pipeline at the end of Episode 2.

Costume purchased at auction on 3 April 1983 at the Doctor Who Celebration: 20 Years of a Time Lord in Longleat.

The costume has been stored in a smoke free environment since purchase and is in overall very good condition. The patterned fabric has hardened and become somewhat brittle at the shoulders. The name GRAHAM MALLARD is hand written on a tag sewn into the back of the trousers.

Happy to sell internationally (can amend postage preferences from those listed as required).

Season 12 Corduroy jacket -
great eBay find

Once in a while a curious item pops up on eBay, often without fanfare or with any apparent value attributed to it.

Ryan, one of my readers spotting a vintage jacket that caught his attention, and certainly piqued mine.

Corduroy Coat Fitted Jacket - 40" Chest
Used Vintage Condition. Unlaundered.
Corduroy Fitted Coat Jacket.

One Button missing at front (bottom button)

Chest 40" (Approx) Small / Medium

PLEASE NOTE - All our items are sourced from around the world. Sizing scales differ in different parts of the world (e.g. a USA Large is a UK XLarge or a Japanese 46 is a UK 44) . So we always remeasure every item and the size stated is the UK size. Any labels you may find on a garment that differ from the size we state will be because it is an overseas label.

Now, I’m sure you can see the more than marked resemblance to the jacket worn in season 12, which is of a similar dark red corduroy fabric, with many matching design details.

I’ll be the first to point out its lacking, which include pointed 1970s collar; the sleeves do not have elbow patches; it lacks the curious pocket detail on the sleeve; the back does not have pleats under the yolk.

But you got to admit the overall shilouette of the jacket is perfect and has a loose fit without cutting in at the waist.

The four boxed front pockets with button-down flaps are uncanny and just like Tom’s jacket.

Ryan was happy for me to buy the jacket, as it was a size that wouldn’t fit him and it would certainly be helpful to me to see a genuine period 1970s jacket of this cut to understand the construction of the pockets and get the same style of fit.

The listing says it is a chest 40, and I am a chest 42 so it may well be tight on me, but we’ll see once it turns up as I closed the deal already!

Original 4th Doctor items on eBay -
July 2015

The first item I spotted on eBay this month was original sold at the 1991 Bonhams Doctor Who auction.

The tag on the helmet relates to that auction.

Creature From The Pit
Chlorian Guard Helmet
GENUINE ULTRA RARE SCREEN SEEN DR WHO PROP FROM THE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER TOM BAKER ERA OF DR WHO. REGARDED BY MANY AS DR WHOS GOLDEN AGE. PROPS FROM THE TOM BAKER PERIOD VERY RARELY SHOW UP.

THIS IS A CHLORIAN GUARD MASK FROM THE 1979 ADVENTURE "THE CREATURE FROM THE PIT" IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO SCRATCHES OR CHIPS, AND HAS BEEN LOVINGLY STORED IN MY PRIVATE COLLECTION.

IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL TAG ON IT (PRESUME THIS WAS FROM AUCTION) AND COMES WITH A BBC SLIP SIGNED BY THE ORIGINAL COSTUME DESIGNER JUNE HUDSON (SEE PICTURES) (OBVIOUSLY THESE WILL BE INCLUDED)
A VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN A GENUINE PIECE OF TV HISTORY FROM EVERYONES FAVOURITE SHOW.

VERY RELUCTANT SALE FORCED ON ME BY THE CURRENT FINANCIAL CLIMATE. I WILL OFFER THIS FOR SALE ONE TIME ONLY. IF IT DOES NOT SELL, I WILL NOT BE RELISTING.
POSTAGE WILL BE £7.55 SPECIAL DELIVERY (PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO THE VALUE OF THIS ITEM I WILL NOT SHIP AT ANYTHING LESS THAN SPECIAL DELIVERY)

Plus someone is selling of their script collection on eBay this month, and here are the times relating to the Fourth Doctor.

Creature from the Pit
Episodes 1- 4 Camera scripts
SOLD FOR £53

Listed is a original BBC Doctor Who Script.

The Camera script is entitled Creature from the Pit, episodes one to four, starring Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor. The item is fragile with pin rust , the back page has become detached but is present, and pages shows wear with some holes here and there. So take this into consideration when bidding.

This item was obtained by me from a private collector whose associate worked for the BBC, and came into his possession before mine.

Update 6th July 2015: I've added further pics of the script due to facebook questions from fellow Doctor Who collectors.

Just to add to the original description that the script has been located in its original 70s plastic folder (plastic very brittle & fragile) which has flattened out any folds in the script since the first pic was uploaded (see picture).

Also to say further which I forgot to mention is that the script is multicoloured being yellow, blue, white. Also, I've added the back page picture to show the detachment and condition alluded to in the listing.

Sarah Jane’s Oliver Owl soft toy on eBay

If you’re on the look out for your own Sarah Jane owl toy, you’d do well to have a look on eBay.

These owls crop up from time to time and sell for around £50 to £100 a time, though you need to watch out for the size of the owl as several heights were made.

If you find their price tag a bit rich for your pocket, you could always have a go at making your own, and these listings come with some great detail pictures to work from.

12 inch tall Oliver Owl
1970s Alresford Crafts soft toy
SOLD FOR £99

For sale vintage 1970's Oliver Owl plush toy made by Alresford Crafts Ltd. Measures approx 12".

Rare and delightful in his own right he is the same as the one featured at the end of the 'Hand of Fear' Dr Who story when Sarah Jane leaves the Doctor.

He also reappeared in 'The Sarah Jane Adventures', also this make of owl featured in 'ET'. Is in very good vintage condition.

RARE 1970’s dressing up costume on eBay

We all have the impression that dressing up and cosplay is a relatively new thing in the world of Doctor Who, but an item on eBay shows it goes back a bit further than you’d think.

1970’s Berwick 4th Doctor
super hero boxed costume
UNSOLD FOR £275 (best offer accepted)

Up for auction is a boxed Berwick Doctor Who 4th Dr dress up costume which is in excellent unused condition with a very small minor crack to the mask, the box is in great shape for its age with damage to the plastic which has been repaired with sellotape.

The dressing up playsuit dates from 1976, and I gather was discontinued the following year. During that time barely 300 sets were sold, making this a bit of a rarity.

The thing that particularly catches my eye is the tunic, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the t-shirt made by Forbidden Planet a couple of years back.

It has you wondering if there was a tad of inspiration there!

Superb Herbert Johnson
fur felt fedora on eBay

I don’t often highlight items like this, since it is not screen-used, but this is a particularly fine example.

Original 1090s Herbert Johnson Fur Felt Fedoras don’t come up often - which would explain the last minute bidding frenzy that pushed this hat to almost £400!

Original 1960s’ Herbert Johnson Artist/Poet's Chocolate Fur Fedora Hat
SOLD FOR £397

This item is in great condition and is unworn. The hat stands 5 1/2" all with a 3 3/4" peak. The interior is also immaculate. All our items are genuine & all the information we have is included in description.
